Located in the heart of uptown Oakland, California, Viridian is a craft cocktail bar specializing in Modern Asian-American food and drinks. Since opening in February 2020, Viridian has received local, national, and global recognition, including being nominated by the prestigious Tales of the Cocktail Foundation as a West Coast Honoree for 2020 Best New American Cocktail Bar, 2023 Best U.S. Bar Team and Best U.S. Restaurant Bar, and 2024 Best U.S. Restaurant Bar. Viridian is also among San Francisco Chronicle's Top East Bay Restaurants, Top Oakland Restaurants, and Bay Area's Most Beautiful Restaurants. In 2021, Esquire named Viridian as one of "27 of The Best Bars in America" and was featured in Forbes as "literally one of the coolest bars in [Oakland]." In 2022, Viridian was also recognized by StarChefs for an impressive three categories: Bartender, Pastry Chef, and Chef. In the same year, Viridian was put on the global food and beverage map and named a 50 Best Discovery establishment. In 2023, Viridian's own former Pastry Chef, Vince Bugtong, was nominated as a James Beard Award Semifinalist for Outstanding Pastry Chef or Baker. This past January 2024, Viridian's innovative Lunar New Year cocktails were featured in both Bon Appetit and Forbes magazines. The future continues to be bright for Viridian as they collaborate with high-profile brands such as Beam-Suntory, Bacardi Limited, Rémy Cointreau, and Hotaling & Co. and share their passion for Asian-American-inspired flavors and cuisine with the world through pop-ups with globally esteemed bars such as Silver Lyan in Washington, DC and Accomplice in LA.
